You might still have unnecessary files in your computer.

Just tried uninstalling with the different user account and it worked. Restarted PC and installed earlier version of Citrix workspace and now I am able to access without any issues. I was able to correct mine using the included Cleanup Utility inside the local install folder. This one magically worked,. For whoever is still having this issue and unable to use the Cleanup Utility, this is the brute force nuke method to fully uninstall it.
The pesky Citrix Workspace Updater Service is what got originally in the way. Open task manager, and end any citrix tasks. While in task manager, go to the services tab and sort it by "description". Look for the one that has citrix in the description, it's an updater service. Right click it and choose "stop". Using a program like CCleaner , run the registry cleaner tool.
There should be a bunch of registry errors that it picks up because of your deleting of these files. Clean all those registry errors. Restart, and you should now be able to install the older version of Citrix that doesn't have the issue mentioned.

I have searched high and low for ways to fix this issue. Nothing has fixed the problem. I tried using Process Monitor to see if I could figure out what registry key or file was causing the installation to fail, but I couldn't find anything although, I admit I have not used Process Monitor before so I may have used it incorrectly. Sorry to ask an obvious question, but after you uninstalled the version 4. Also, the later version of CitrixReceiver. I removed quite a few registry keys including the ones you have listed.

I assume you mean using Process Monitor and filter on anything where the process name is TrolleyExpress. I did that, and for the life of me I can't find anything which looks like a key or value that might refer to a later version.
Is there some clever way of using Process Monitor or some other tool so that it will tell me what registry key was the trigger for the error message in the TrolleyExpress log file? I have checked the files and folders for the default user profile as well. I made sure that hidden files and folders, as well as protected operating system files were all visible. Have you tried to install an old version then run the cleanup utility?
